Mount Gravatt State High School

Eyes in the Sky
Tingalpa Wetlands

Through the use of drones, Mount Gravatt State High School identified key areas under threat in the Bulimba Creek Catchment and helped to implement strategies to protect the local waterways.

Students and teachers removed large amounts of litter from the waterways, and removed water hyacinth from Tingalpa Wetlands to prevent it from choking local waterways.

Through this project, students developed working relationships with local community groups including Bulimba Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee, and have developed a better understanding of the importance of healthy waterways.
